“Baldovino and I had been meaning to do a story on a rooftop for a while. Rooftops are very common on every high-rise building in HK. We wanted to create something beautiful in the concrete jungle of the city. It was an amazing location, overlooking the heritage (99 years old!) Yau Ma Tei wholesale fruit market. You can see it in birds-eye in the 80s gangster vibe shot. The model, Vivien, came from another one of our castings. We thought she was amazing and basically conceived a narrative to work around her. Putting feminine fashion and sex appeal onto a muse with cropped hair and a slightly androgynous appeal was a nice contrast - as opposed to the obvious big-haired L’Oreal model type. There are a few local fur brands and wholesalers I had worked with and the timing seemed just right: perfect location, the right model and a variety of fur pieces to style with.”- Cheryl Leung, Stylist
